Lessons and workshops

Small classes of students for beginners or intermediate artists (3-5 students)
• 10 classes cost 200.00
• Drop in is $25. Individual lessons by request, cost $50 for one class

The classes are given once a week:

• · Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 PM.

Class projects are arranged with different subject matter from simple objects to complex group set-ups. Emphasis is on studying each demonstration step-by-step from initial sketches to the final rendering of objects and textures. This course provides an introduction to painting techniques including color and composition. Students will be able to produce finished paintings by the end of 10 classes.

• Understand the principles of design through the study of still life set-ups, landscapes, and figurative subject matter.

The class will cover all of the fundamentals of painting with pastel and oil including composition, values, masses, focal point, edges, drawing and color. Weather permitting; we will be outdoors working on location creating small field studies. Working from life is the best way to gain the skills and knowledge to improve your landscape work. There will be instructor demonstrations in oils/pastels, with individual attention and critiques
